I was doing my daily google of myself and found out that I'm on IMDB. Crazy. They'll put anyone on that site. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3027152/ (I'm kidding about the daily google - more like weekly)
Only a few more days to buy some original Postage Stamp Funnies art over at Fuzzy Glamour Gallery, 625 NW Everett St. #111, Portland OR.
Wordstock went well. Though two conventions in as many weeks left me sick as water drinking gringo tourist. Nothing to make one appreciate one's health like the stomach flu.
This is a bit of an obscure joke - I wish I could have figured out a way to make it tighter. I like the basic Platonic Relationship pun though. One of the great things about having a steady gig is that I can go for the long-shot jokes (jokes that only some people get) more often.
Irony was bleeding from the subtle statements of these seemingly benign objects highlighted in each work; which had been a popular underlying theme for much of the avant-garde since World War I. Many in today's world might claim that there is has been a 'passing' in regards to the continued presence of irony. To quote comic artist/writer Shannon Wheeler: "Polls Show: Sincerity is "IN"... Irony is DEAD. I find it ironic that Irony is dead. Which means Irony is alive! But... if it's alive... then it's no longer ironic... maybe it is dead after all... Maybe Sincerity is the New Irony. Is New the New Old? Is New the new New? Confusion never goes out of style."
Jesse Reklaw hung our gallery show at the Fuzzy Glamour gallery and, like a total a-hole, gave himself the worst spot on the wall. Check out his new book. The reading was great.
The room was packed. It was a nice way to start up the Wordstock convention
I'm totally exhausted. More about the convention itself later...
