LOTTERY MANIA

Saturday, March 31st, 2012 by Ruben Bolling

From over two decades ago (!), when Tom the Dancing Bug only appeared in a New York City weekly:

a comic about NY's lottery, LOTTO, the motto for which was "All you need is a dollar and a dream."

And check out the heavy hand with the letraset!

"Listening to Boing Boing's Gweek podcast. Includes [Mark] Frauenfelder, Ruben Bolling and great topics.  Ruben Bolling… how dare you be good on a podcast and in cartooning."

This Week in Gweek

Monday, March 26th, 2012 by Ruben Bolling

I again co-hosted the Gweek podcast this week, joining host Mark Frauenfelder and co-co-hosts Michael Pusateri and Matt Haughey.

An update to my discussion of Richard Thompson's Cul de Sac in the podcast (recorded last week):  He's returned to the comic today, and announced he'll be using an assistant inker, Stacy Curtis.  I'm all for whatever it takes to get more CdS's!

Left Forum

Thursday, March 15th, 2012 by Ruben Bolling

On Sunday at 3pm at the "Left Forum" in NYC, I'll be on a panel with Ted Rall and Stephanie McMillan, entitled, "Cartoonists For/Against Revolution and/or Other Major Changes."

I think that title implies the possibility of four categories of cartoonists:

Cartoonists for revolution and for major changes;

Cartoonists for revolution but against major changes;

Cartoonists against revolution but for major changes; and

Cartoonists against revolution and against major changes.

Unfortunately, there's only three of us, and I'm not sure if I fit into any of them.

Come on by and watch the fight.
